KEM SUNITSCH
Dog mom, sports enthusiast, traveler. Likes: Jigsaw puzzles, Diet Dr Pepper, cooking , time with my 4 dogs, going to the beach, spending time with my partner, and reading a good book. Dislikes: mean people, arrogance, oysters, yogurt, and horror movies Kem was born in Roseburg, OR and grew up in Bend, OR. Kem enjoyed playing sports in high school; basketball & softball. Kem went on to attend Oregon State University (Go Beavs!) where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology and certification in Family Studies. After graduating from college in 1989, she returned to Bend, OR and worked for a year with at risk youth. In 1990, Kem moved to Salem , OR and began her career with Oregon Department of Human Services, Child Welfare. She has remained with Child Welfare for the last 31 years working in the fields of Foster Care Certification and Adoptions. Kem lives with her partner, Tina and their 4 dogs; 2 Golden Retrievers, Kennlee and Winter and 2 mini Aussies, Roe and Oakley. Kem has recently retired from state service but knew she wasn’t ready to be put out to pasture just yet. Being involved with Salem Angels was the perfect opportunity for her to continue her passion for helping children and families in the foster care system, believing strongly that God has a plan for all. |
