Brenda UmulapDevoted parent , Registered Nurse, passionate about life and equity for all.
Likes: Animals, family vacations in Hawaii, nature’s beauty, music, helping people and almost anything sweet! Dislikes: Negativity, people hurting people and most seafood. Brenda grew up on Vancouver Island, Canada, immigrating to Texas in 1994 in search of a nursing job. After a short time in Lubbock, Texas, she moved to Salem, Oregon, in pursuit of a position at Salem Hospital. There she met her husband; one year later they married and together they have twins. The joys and challenges of being a parent took the two of them. Now that her children are headed off to college, she has the time to follow her third passion: children in foster care. She has always dreamed of being able to be a foster parent, but never took that decision lightly, and for that reason it has never come to be a reality. When she heard about Salem Angels and the opportunity to walk alongside children and families experiencing foster care and being able to provide support, she was so excited, and she joined the team as our Corporate Relations Director. |
